Meadow Lake Broncos force game five against La Ronge

After falling 5-4 on Saturday, Feb. 20 against La Ronge, the Meadow Lake Broncos forced a deciding game five with a 5-4 overtime win Sunday, Feb. 21.

So far this series visiting teams have won all the games. La Ronge trumped Meadow Lake in games one and three and the Broncos won games two and four.

Meadow Lake and La Ronge will face off one more time Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Pineride Ford Arena. The puck drops at 8 p.m.

The winner will advance to the finals.

Elsewhere in minor hockey, the Meadow Lake midget Stampeders closed out the regular season splitting their away games with an 8-6 victory against Martensville and a 5-2 loss to the Saskatoon River Kings.

The Stampeders finished the season in ninth place. They will face the Battlefords Barons in the first round of playoffs.

Game one is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 8:15 p.m. in the Meadow Lake arena.

Game two is Saturday, Feb. 27 and if necessary, game three is on Feb. 28, both in Battleford.
