New chamber administrator looking forward to her role

The new administrator for the Meadow Lake Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to serving her community in a new way.  

Adriane Oullette has lived in the Meadow Lake area her whole life and made multiple business connections. For these reasons, Oullette felt she’s well-suited to take over for administrator, Donna Ritco, who retired April 14.

“To me, it looked like (the chamber) was looking for somebody that would go out and about within the community and talk to members and to organize events…I enjoy that kind of thing,” she said.

Oullette has been working alongside Ritco since the beginning of the month. Within two weeks, the pair have conducted meet and greets with local business owners. Oullette said she’s learned a lot, not only about Ritco’s job, but of the pitfalls of technology.  

“It’s been interesting. We’ve had a computer system that’s crashed on us, and that’s been a big part of the first couple weeks. I’ve learned how (Ritco) goes about things and we’ve gone through a lot within the office,” Oullette said.

Oullette is looking forward to taking the reins. Her first order of business is to recruit more members.
