Sandy Bay RCMP investigate possible child abduction attempt

Apr 19, 2016 | 10:28 PM

The RCMP is asking for helping finding a man who may have tried to abduct a teenage girl in northern Saskatchewan.

The alleged incident happened on March 25 in Sandy Bay.

A 14-year-old girl was walking home from a relative’s house, when a black truck stopped and the driver called the girl over to talk.

When the girl was close enough, the man grabbed her by the wrist.  The girl was able to break free and ran home.  The truck then sped off in the opposite direction.

RCMP say the black truck in question may be  a Dodge Ram.

The driver is described as a man in his 30s with light skin.  He was wearing a black hoodie, a hat which said “Creighton” on it and glasses.  The man also had a scratch on his left cheek.  Police have so far been unable to locate him.

Anyone with any information about this incident is encouraged to call Sandy Bay RCMP at 306-754-4600.
