RCMP having success with monthly initiative program

April was a successful month for the RCMP and its monthly initiative program.

Meadow Lake RCMP focused on vulnerable road users, specifically motorcycles but Cpl. Bob Wolfenden said due to the weather there were not many on the road.

“These monthly initiatives benefit the community by increasing awareness of these offences and the community seeing the targeted approach made by the detachment,” Cpl. Wolfenden said.

Throughout the month, police responded to one collision involving a motorcycle. The driver lost control and was sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

In May, the RCMP will be shifting its focus to impaired drivers.
