M.L. RCMP meet black bear, recover stolen property

Meadow Lake RCMP had a close encounter of the wild kind this past week.

Const. Marni Fenton and her partner were on patrol north of the city, when a black bear came right up to their stopped vehicle and poked its head into the window.

People in town may also get their stolen property back after the RCMP executed a search warrant north-west of the city.

On April 28, a team of officers led by Const. Paul Carey seized a large amount of stolen property including tools, welders, trailers and an ATV.

RCMP had 59-year-old John Kindle in custody during the raid. He faces charges for possession of property both over and under $5,000 and is set to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on June 6.
