10 Meadow Lake student athletes advance to provincial track meet

It was an extremely successful day for Carpenter High School athletes at the district track meet in Lions Park yesterday, May 25.

More than 100 athletes from across the northwest came to Meadow Lake in a bid to advance to the provincial tournament in Regina.

Students from Carpenter placed first in 15 events including Brenan Kuffert in long jump, 100 and 400-metre, Savannah Russel in the 80-metre hurdles and long jump and Cydney Witt in the 400-metre. Aiden Pearson and Meghan Mee won the top prize in the 1500 and 3000-metre runs in their respective categories. Hanna Johnson placed first in the 800 metre while Sahayle Norman won the quad event of long jump, shot put, 100-metre and triple jump.

Grace Rodrique and Keely Willick also had success in their respective categories by placing first in the 200-metre and second in the 100-metre. Dayna Henry advances after placing first in discuss and second in javelin.
