Jun 3, 2016 | 7:22 AM

A single in the first inning by Kevin Gerwing got the Sox on base early. It didn’t take long for next batter, Quincy Winkler, to hit one out of the park giving Meadow Lake a 2-1 lead after one.

Bats were swinging for the Lakers in the second inning with Cooper Wilson, Daryl Case and Nic Weston all scoring runs giving Standard Hill 5-2 lead after two.

A scoreless third inning, followed by a two-run fourth for the Lakers had Meadow Lake trailing 7-2 heading into the fifth. With two batters on base and hungry for runs, Kevin Gerwing stepped to the plate and easily put it over the fence, giving the Sox a three-run homer and putting the team back in the game with an 8-5 score after five innings.

Jordan Oystrick and Kevin Gerwing would add runs in the seventh inning along with Scott Fransky who hit the team’s third home run of the game.
