Suspect accused of possessing child porn released from custody

A Meadow Lake man arrested for child pornography charges was released after his bail hearing yesterday, June 13.

The man, whose name can’t be published due to a publication ban was released to his parents’ home with a list of conditions one of which precludes him from accessing electronic equipment. He must also wear a monitoring anklet.

The accused will appear in court again on August 22 at 9:30 a.m.

The man faces 11 criminal charges including four counts of luring, two counts of making, possessing and distributing child pornography as well as charges for sexual interference and making explicit sexual material available to a child.

He was arrested on April 7 after an investigation conducted by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) in conjunction with the Meadow Lake RCMP and authorities in the United States.
