Missing diver found near Buffalo Narrows

The search for a missing scuba diver in the Buffalo Narrows area has reached a tragic conclusion.

On Thursday, July 6, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team recovered the body of a 49-year-old man who was reported missing after diving near Buffalo Narrows on Sunday, July 3.

The man, who was working in the town and was described as an avid recreational scuba diver, departed from an area in the channel that runs between Peter Pond Lake and Churchill Lake. 

RCMP located the deceased diver on the third day of searching. His death is not believed to be suspicious and his name will not be released.
