Jul 8, 2016 | 12:00 PM

After three clutch runs in the seventh, the Meadow Lake White Sox came back to win it the St. Walburg Reds yesterday.

With the win, the Senior Men finish the season 2-0 against St. Walburg, winning 11-1 in their first game against one another.

League-leading pitcher Craig Weran started for Meadow Lake in his seventh appearance of the season. The veteran right hander retired 21 batters through strike outs and help from his defence. Weran went the full seven innings for the team picking up his seventh win of the year.

The Sox started the offence early with Jordan Oystrick and Owen Dancy scoring runs in the first inning.

The Reds added one in the first and two in the third to take a one-run lead which held until the fifth inning.

Batting in his second RBI of the game, designated hitter Quincy Winkler brought in Oystrick to tie the game at three.

The seventh inning was a nail biter with Oystrick scoring the go-ahead run and short-stop Kevin Gerwing adding on one.

Helping to get things done offensively was first baseman Chris Ellis who had two RBIs.

In the bottom of the seventh, Weran struck out two to close out the game.

With the win, the Sox improve to 10-5 on the season and remain one game ahead of Standard Hill for first place in the Smith Division.

Meadow Lake will close out the regular season on Monday, July 11 when they welcome the Edam Blue Sox to Assman Field.
