Retired conservation officer seeks seat on city council
He’s raised a family here, laid roots down, and 30 years later, Meadow Lake is Tom Harrison’s home.
Harrison grew up on a farm outside of Quill Lake, Sask. and with his job as a conservation officer, moved around quite a bit. Now retired, he’s seeking election as a city councillor on Oct. 26.
“I think we have a great community and I like the way we’re headed,” Harrison said. “I thought it was a good time to get involved, bring some of my experience to the floor and have an opportunity to give back.”
As a conservation officer, Harrison served as senior-manager within the Ministry of Environment and looked after most of north-west Saskatchewan. Upon retiring from the ministry, Harrison spent a few years working for Mosaic Potash on process improvement, leadership training, and policy.
