Elford solid as Ontario Blue blanks Saskatchewan at women’s U18 championship

REGINA — Tristyn Elford made 24 saves as Ontario Blue shut out Saskatchewan 2-0 on Thursday in the second day of the preliminary round at the Canadian under-18 women’s hockey championship.

Alicia Pallister had a goal and an assist for Ontario Blue (1-1-0), while Brooke McQuigge also scored in the win.

Chantal Burke was solid in net for Saskatchewan (1-1-0), coming through with 26 saves.

Earlier Thursday, Emma Maltais and Camryn Tait each had a pair of goals, and Ontario Red defeated Team Atlantic 6-1.
