M.L. Broncos easily handle Moosomin Warriors for second win of the season

Nov 14, 2016 | 11:00 AM

The Meadow Lake Broncos senior hockey team is off to a strong start this season.

They followed their Oct. 29 win against La Ronge with a decisive 9-0 victory over the Moosomin Warriors on Saturday, Nov. 12.

By the end of the first period, Meadow Lake was up 2-0 with 25 shots on while Moosomin only launched two attempts on net.

The situation didn’t improve for Moosomin in the second period as Meadow Lake exploded for another six goals.

In the third period, Meadow Lake netted another goal to end the game 9-0.

Unable to make anything happen throughout the game, Moosomin players tried to play the role of an agitator.

It worked, drawing 11 penalties on the Broncos which they couldn’t capitalize on.

Goals were scored by eight different Bronco players: Ashton Mcyntyre with two, Mitch Paramchuk, Kahisis Durocher, Morgan Esau, Jordan Oystrick, Daren Caron, Zane Morin and Randy Lariviere.

Mcyntyre, Brent Prevach, and Oystrick each added two assists in the game while Paramchuk had three.

Meadow Lake had 68 shots by the end of regulation time compared to Moosomin’s eight.

The Broncos next game is Saturday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. when the green and white welcome the Big River Braves to Pineridge Ford Arena.
