Nov 16, 2016 | 9:37 AM

Meadow Lake RCMP recovered a stolen generator and truck in two separate cases yesterday.

On Nov. 15, police received a tip from the public about a stolen industrial generator on Highway 155. Officers investigated the theft with help from Green Lake RCMP and located a semi and trailer transporting the stolen generator.

Police arrested one suspect and located other stolen property in the process. The estimated value of the generator is between $15,000 and $20,000 according to police.

The generator, stolen from the Dorintosh area, had a $1,000 reward for information leading to its recovery.

Also on Nov. 15, around 6 p.m., RCMP were dispatched to an erratic driver complaint on the Waterhen First Nation.

Officers located the vehicle and attempted to stop it, however, it fled down a dead end road.

Police set up a road block when the truck, later confirmed to be stolen, approached at a high rate of speed, struck a police vehicle and again fled the scene. None of the officers were injured.

The stolen truck was recovered several hours later and police believe the suspect or suspects hitchhiked away from Waterhen.

Anyone with information on this incident, or who may have encountered these suspects is encouraged to call the Meadow Lake RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
