Three year RCMP investigation results in multiple arrests

Seven people were arrested on multiple drug and firearm charges after Meadow Lake police wrapped up at three year investigation yesterday.

According to a press release, the main focus of the investigation was Jaycee McCallum, 34. He was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

Six other people were arrested on minor marijuana possession charges and have since been released.

Two vehicles were seized along with an unspecified amount of cash, cocaine, marijuana, illegal steroids, five cell phones and numerous cell phones.

RCMP believe further investigation will lead to additional charges.

The investigation involved Meadow Lake RCMP, Loon Lake, Pierceland, Green Lake and Beauval detachments. The Serious Violent Offender Unit from North Battleford, two police dog teams and the GIS unit from North Battleford were also involved.

According to the release, the investigation is ongoing and called this “just another step in disrupting the further linked drug trafficking in Meadow Lake.”
