UPDATE: Suspicious death in Pelican Narrows

On Feb. 21, 2017 at 1:19 a.m. police in Pelican Narrows responded to a call from the Pelican Narrows Health Center about a 16-year-old male with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, which the youth later succumbed to.

The RCMP identified the deceased man in a press release as Mark Clarence Michael, from Pelican Narrows.

RCMP stated officers are investigating an altercation which took place outdoors after two groups encountered one another.

In a media release, police revealed a 17-year-old female was also involved in the incident but did not require medical attention. She was not named in the release.

River Blade Storm Linklater is charged with first degree murder, attempted murder and participation in a criminal organization. He is scheduled to make a court appearance in Sandy Bay at 10:00 a.m. on Feb. 23.

Investigations remain ongoing and an autopsy was performed in Saskatoon on Feb. 22.

 The death of a man in Pelican Narrows is being considered suspicious. RCMP officers responded to a call in the northern community shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday. A man was taken to the local health clinic where he was pronounced dead. No other details have been released but RCMP said residents will notice an increase in police presence in Pelican Narrows as officials investigate.  Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP.
