The still-undefeated Meadow Lake Broncos took home three of six Beaver Lakes Hockey League awards this week, including top goaltender, top defenceman, and most gentlemanly player.

Goaltender Jared Lafond had a sparkling 2.33 goals-against-average in six games this season, winning all six starts, to take home the league’s top goaltender award. He is also 2-0 in the playoffs, so far.

Defenceman Zane Morin, who played in just five games for the Broncos this season, won the league’s top defensive honour. Forward Ashton McIntye, who led the team in scoring with 31 points in just nine games, took home the award for the league’s most gentlemanly player.

Other league awards went to Sandy Lake’s Rylie Currie for both league MVP and leading scorer, and Big River’s Derek Doucette for rookie of the year. Currie had 36 points this season to lead all players, while Doucette recorded five points in 11 games.
