Premier Wall met with applause, boos at CFL Week after budget

With all the different players at CFL Week, you can expect to hear a mix of cheers and boos — and the premier wasn’t an exception.

Brad Wall was invited on-stage during a panel with Anthony Calvillo, Warren Moon and Mike Reilly and was met with applause and boos.

“That’s ridiculous, come on, we’re not on the field right now,” Anthony Calvillo joked about the response Wall had received.

Wall then went on to thank all three of the players for the contributions they have made to the CFL.

Afterwards, despite the mixed reaction, some people still wanted to grab photos with the premier.

When asked about the boos by reporters Friday, Wall joked about the reaction.

“I’ve got booed at many places, I got booed at the farewell game at Mosaic,” Wall said. “I think I turned them around at the end, I think they were clapping at the end, a very powerful speech turned them around.”
