Sask. Party leader hopeful Cheveldayoff visiting M.L. tonight

Sep 1, 2017 | 4:24 PM

Saskatoon-Willowgrove Ken Cheveldayoff has previous ties to Meadow Lake, so in the wake of MLA Jeremy Harrison’s withdrawal from the premiership race, he is making a last-minute visit to the community tonight, at Sargent Hall, 401 Third Ave. E. at 7 p.m.

Sharlene Beaulieu, a co-organizer for the visit, said Cheveldayoff wanted to visit after Harrison’s announcement.

“Having worked in this area before, and having built some relationships with people here before, Ken decided to come up here and try and answer some peoples’ concerns, and put some peoples’ minds at ease,” she said. “He said that he would be willing to help out in any way he could if he’s elected leader. I’m sure he’s probably seeking support from the people in this area as well.”

Beaulieu said she worked for Cheveldayoff when he ran in the federal election in 1993.
