Meadow Lake Culture Days to offer wide range of activities

Sep 19, 2017 | 12:00 PM

A wide range of culture-rich activities are taking place in Meadow Lake next weekend, thanks to the Meadow Lake Library and some other local organizations.

From Thursday to Saturday next week, Sept. 28 to 30, Culture Days will take place at the Library, the Meadow Lake museum, and Artistic Incidents studio.

Tawn Marshall, the programming clerk at the library, said there are eight different activities including live music, a film, a dreamcatcher workshop, and wool working to name a few.

“We were incredibly lucky this year to get a grant from SaskCulture,” she said. “We partnered with the museum and the city to be able to get this grant. We’re using as many people as we can who have skills and businesses and talents to be able to offer services right here in Meadow Lake.”

She said the library has been offering Culture Days programming for a number of years, but thanks to the grant, this year’s offerings are expanded quite a bit for a busy and diverse few days of fun and learning. Marshall added all activities are free and full participation is encouraged, whether that be sampling food or making crafts.

Some events require registration, so Marshall said anyone interested in the activities should contact the library.
