Meadow Lake RCMP have released an edited surveillance video from the day when 100 iPads and 80 Chromebooks were stolen from Waterhen Lake School in late August.

In a media release, Sgt. Ryan how said the video was recovered with the assistance of community members.

“This was a significant theft with a detrimental impact on the school,” he said. “The loss is estimated at well over $50,000.”

He added that the suspect in the video has a very distinctive gait. The person in question appears to be clutching a black item in the right hand.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Meadow Lake RCMP or Crimestoppers. In August, Coun. Dustin Ross Fiddler said the band is offering a cash reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.

The 180 apparatuses were set to be used for math and reading intervention during this school year.
