M.L. CSO and bylaw officer to assist RCMP with document service

Meadow Lake’s safety officers will be assisting the RCMP with some administrative duties on a trial basis.
In her most recent report to council, City Manager Diana Burton said she met with RCMP to discuss the possibility of the city’s Community Safety Officer Joe Hallahan and Bylaw Officer Tracey Chuckrey helping with the delivery of legal documents, such as summons notices.
It is a pilot project the city will be trying out for the next three months, and something the RCMP thought would help with their overall workload.
The organizations will assess at the end of the trial period to determine whether it is feasible to continue.
