City re-launching ‘Experience Meadow Lake’ in 2018

With spring and summer right around the corner, Meadow Lake City Council and the local recreation board want residents to soak up everything the city has to offer.

Coun. Glen Winkler, who also sits on the recreation board, helped launch ‘Experience Meadow Lake’ in 2017 to promote the city’s recreation facilities, including the ball diamonds, golf and tennis courts, and the PineRidge Ford amphitheatre at Lions Park. Most of the areas were available for use for free or at a reduced cost. The inaugural year went over well, with high attendance at ‘Jam in the Park’ events during the summer months, and regular use of the ball diamonds. Winkler said he would love to see even more participation in 2018, so city staff are busy getting the word out.

“I think we maybe started a little late, so getting a jump on it this year might help,” Winkler said.

City Manager Diana Burton suggested disseminating a public survey to see what types of activities people would like to see around Meadow Lake, and said the survey may be circulated in coming weeks.
