Last year was a great one for building development in the city.

In a yearly report to council, building inspector Neil Marsh outlined the work done on construction, renovations, and explained the various permits issued throughout last year.

In total, 51 permits were issued, which included new construction and renovations. This was 10 more than 2016, Marsh pointed out.

In the residential sector, a total of eight new homes were built, as well as two multi-unit structures, and one mobile home was moved into the city. Twenty-eight homeowners made additions to their homes last year as well. In total, these properties totalled $3,250,610.
