Two bodies were found after a house fire was extinguished in the Onion Lake Cree Nation.

RCMP, paramedics, and crews with Onion Lake Cree Nation Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at approximately 8:17 p.m. March 10. Once the fire was extinguished, two deceased persons were located inside the home.

No other people were believed to be in the residence at the time of the incident, and Saskatchewan's Office of the Chief Coroner ordered autopsies later this week to confirm the identities of the victims.

The fire is not believed to be suspicious in nature, and the investigation is ongoing.
