Meadow Lake man charged in connection with armed robbery

May 17, 2018 | 5:00 PM

A Meadow Lake man appeared in court this morning in connection with an armed robbery at a First Ave. business.

According to the Meadow Lake RCMP, 23-year-old Creeson Merasty of Meadow Lake was charged with robbery, unlawful confinement and wearing a disguise with intent. The charges stem from an incident in the early-morning hours of May 16, when police said a male suspect entered a business in the 600-Block of First Ave. W. with a bandana over his face. Police said the suspect threatened staff with a knife before fleeing on a bicycle with cash and cigarettes.

Merasty will be back in court June 4 in Meadow Lake. He is presumed innocent at this stage.
