UPDATE: Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP arrest wanted man, second suspect still at large

UPDATE: Police have arrested one of the two suspects wanted in connection with the June 7 incident, but the second man remains at large.

RCMP said they arrested Jeremy Wayne Gardiner at a residence in Île-à-la-Crosse, and seized a firearm during the arrest. He’s now facing numerous criminal charges and made his first court appearance July 25.

Although Gardiner was arrested, RCMP said the second suspect, Damien Scott Anderson, 26, is still at large. Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

RCMP in Île-à-la-Crosse are on the hunt for two men wanted on numerous criminal charges.

According to RCMP, local officers were called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision the morning of June 7. An investigation showed the collision happened “after an altercation took place between several individuals,” RCMP said. During their investigation at the scene, RCMP seized 44 grams of methamphetamine, 21 grams of cocaine, and roughly 30 grams of marijuana.

The RCMP said they are now seeking two individuals in connection with the incident. Damien Scott Anderson, 26, is charged with assault with a weapon and mischief over $5,000, along with possession of a dangerous weapon and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Jeremy Wayne Gardiner, 19, is facing three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The charges against them have not been tested in court.

Anyone with information on the two suspects was asked to contact the Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP detachment or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
