Government commits $100K to help scorched farmers

Saskatchewan farmers impacted by wildfires in October, are receiving some good news.
 
The Government of Saskatchewan announced on Thursday it will donate up to $100,000 in matching cash donations to the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association Wildfire Relief Fund.

After an RCMP investigation found no misconduct in the way officers interacted with the family of Colten Boushie on the night of the young man’s death, the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is calling for better First Nations representation in criminal investigations.

Police searching for escaped inmate

RCMP are on the lookout after an inmate escaped from a funeral at Little Red River First Nation this afternoon.

Frederick Frank Frenchman, born 1993, escaped from custody while on escort from the Saskatoon Correctional Centre around 12:30 p.m.

FSIN, government mark 25 years of Treaty Land Entitlement agreement

Over 25 years ago an agreement signed by the governments of Saskatchewan, Canada and 25 Indigenous communities addressed outstanding Treaty Land Entitlement (TLE) claims.
