Rider fans brave heat to watch talent at training camp

Training camp has become as much a rite of passage for fans as it is for Saskatchewan Roughriders’ players and prospects.

Over the last five years, Lisa Lukye has taken time off work to watch the first week camp.

The 2018 CFL draft has come to a close and the Roughriders have added five new players into the fold. From offensive lineman to linebackers here’s a brief look at the young men you’ll see – or in one case may not see – at training camp this year.

‘Best player here:’ Collaros impressing at Riders mini-camp

While mini-camp is a place for players on the bubble to show coaches they deserve a spot on the team, the star for the Riders has been someone whose name could be at the top of the depth chart.

Riders’ Marcus Thigpen tests positive for banned substance

Roughriders’ running back Marcus Thigpen is facing a two-game suspension after testing positive for a banned substance.

On Monday, the CFL announced Thigpen tested positive for an anabolic steroid called dehydrochlormethyltestosterone.
