M.L. White Sox win second in a row

The Meadow Lake White Sox senior baseball team welcomed the Standard Hill Lakers to Assman Field yesterday.

The June 23 tilt saw the Sox double-up on the Lakers to win 4-2, the team`s second win in a row. All four of Meadow Lake’s points were scored in the second inning with the bottom of the batting order getting things done.

Left-fielder Scott Fransky scored the team’s first run with Sam Dawson crossing home plate shortly after. Eight and nine hole batters, Shawn Irwin and Matt Bourassa, got the third and fourth runs.

Craig Weran again got the ball for the White Sox and improved his record to a league leading 5-0.

With the win, Meadow Lake improves to 7-4 on the season and sit in first place in the Smith Division.

The Sox’s next games are Sunday, June 26 when the team travels to Lloydminster for a double header.
