M.L. camp teaches volleyball players fundamental skills
A volleyball camp taking place this week is set to give Meadow Lake’s budding volleyballers the skills they need to learn to master the game.
The Future Stars Volleyball Camp for boys and girls ranging in Grade 1 to 6 started on Monday Aug. 14 and concludes today.
Trent Marsh is one of the main organizers and coaches at the camp, and said it’s a way for younger kids to learn the basics of the sport.
“They develop their skills, but it’s more about instilling having fun with volleyball,” he said. “They’ll learning the big three – passing with their forearms, setting, and spiking, as well as serving. And then we do a little bit of defensive stuff as well digging the ball, spiking, diving and things, and blocking.”
