Separate arrests in Loon Lake see one facing weapons charges, another, theft

A 24-year-old man is facing numerous weapons and trafficking charges after RCMP in Loon Lake found weapons inside a home.

At around 2 a.m. Thursday morning, RCMP were called to a home in Loon Lake where they found a number of weapons, including two axes, an extendable baton, a bow, and two sawed-off rifles and drug paraphernalia.

Talon Rollheiser was arrested at the home and alongside the weapons charges, is facing offences related to trakkicking crystal meth.

He will appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Feb. 4.

Earlier in the week, RCMP in Loon Lake were alerted to a theft of just under $8,000 from a local business overnight on Jan. 23.

Police identified 32-year-old Craig Morningchild as the suspect. He was arrested and charged with theft over $5,000.
