Warawa bids emotional farewell to MPs, calls for more access to palliative care
OTTAWA — Conservative MP Mark Warawa used his farewell address to the House Commons today to call for changes that will ensure more Canadians have access to palliative care.
The 69-year-old faces his own battle with pancreatic cancer, diagnosed after he’d publicly announced in January he would retire.
Warawa says statistics show that between 70 and 84 per cent of Canadians have no access to palliative care.
