16th Annual Indigenous Gathering on Diabetes
Diabetes Canada event focusing on Self-Empowerment to learn self-management of diabetes
Diabetes Canada will present the 16th annual Indigenous Gathering on Diabetes, Self-Empowerment on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Exhibition Centre in Prince Albert. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the event will run from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The Indigenous Gathering is an annual event hosted by Diabetes Canada with many partners from health sectors and Indigenous communities. It provides an opportunity for Indigenous people affected by diabetes to come together for networking, information and support. This year the theme is Self-Empowerment, giving people the tools, they need to help them take control of their own heath and learn to live well with diabetes.
New this year, we are introducing a youth component lead by former NHL Hockey player Carlin Nordstrom, the youth session with also focus on empowering youth to take control and make healthy decisions for a healthier future.
