New agreement between Saskatchewan Health Authority and Meadow Lake Tribal Council promises better health services
Better health services are on their way to the Meadow Lake area.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and the Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together and achieve better health outcomes for residents in Northwestern Saskatchewan.
The agreement was signed today at a ceremony at the MLTC Chief’s Chambers by senior representatives from SHA and MLTC. The formal agreement is for establishing a framework in which the two sides will work collaboratively to maximize efforts to improve the health of First Nation’s people through diverse and targeted initiatives. This includes health promotion, tracking the determinants of health, and supporting efforts to access funds for new programs, services, and research.
SHA CEO Scott Livingstone said he was pleased with new agreement with the MLTC.
