Extremely high water creating safety hazards for water travel across far North
The Saskatchewan Water Security Agency is advising water levels are extremely high in many water systems in the Far North.
Logs, debris, unstable banks and other obstacles that may not normally be encountered are creating safety hazards for water travel.
“Cumberland House and Sandy Bay area are of special concern though we want to make sure people any where along Churchhill River System are likely to have swift moving water,” WSA spokesperson Ron Podbielski said.
High water levels are being closely monitored and residents should avoid the water and exercise extreme caution when accessing water systems if travel is necessary.
