Nov 5, 2020 | 3:34 PM

The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) has declared the COVID-19 outbreak in Stanley Mission Health Centre over.

The outbreak was originally declared on Oct. 9 and lasted nearly a month.

According to a media release, Medical Health Officer with NITHA, Dr. Nnamdi Ndubuka declared it over after the 28-day period passed since the last case could have contributed to transmission in the health centre.

NITHA is reminding the public to continue to take precautions.

“COVID-19 is present in Saskatchewan and we all have a responsibility to minimize the spread of the disease. Physical distancing is something that everyone needs to be doing all the time, to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” the release said. “It is also important for everyone to follow the guidelines for hand washing, physical distancing and self-isolating shared by provincial to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus and protect our most vulnerable populations. Together we can make a positive difference in our community by reducing the spread.”
