8,948 vaccines delivered

Province records eight more deaths, 412 new COVID-19 cases

Jan 11, 2021 | 2:23 PM

The province has administered 8,948 vaccines in Saskatchewan and is expecting a large amount of doses to be delivered this week. That will include 6,825 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 5,400 of the Moderna vaccine. Meanwhile, there have been eight more reported COVID-related fatalities in the province, bringing the total number of deaths to 199.

Due to the ultra-low temperature required to transport the Pfizer vaccine, the Ministry of Health received guidance from the manufacturer to support broader and safe distribution to ensure the vials are distributed in long term and personal care homes. This is set to begin in Prince Albert right away.

Yesterday, a total of 117 doses were administered in Prince Albert, 234 in the Far North East and 206 in the North East zones.

There has been a total of 613 doses administered in Prince Albert, 596 Moderna doses in the Far North West zone, 134 Moderna doses in the Far North Central zone, 1,071 Moderna doses in the Far North East zone, and 388 Moderna doses in the North East zone. Some of the vaccinations from yesterday in the North may have not been reported yet.
