Fire breaks out at Meadow Lake sawmill

The Meadow Lake Fire Department battled a blaze east of Meadow Lake early Friday afternoon.

Emergency services were dispatched to the NorSask Forest Productions sawmill around 1:30 p.m. after receiving reports of the blaze.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire with the assistance of the sawmill’s sprinkler system. There are no reported injuries and the estimate of the damages has yet to be determined.

The incident is reported to be accidental, and is not under investigation.
