Meadow Lake Provincial Park set to receive key upgrades to electrical, water services
As part of an announcement from the Government of Saskatchewan, some sites in Meadow Lake Provincial Park are set to receive several significant upgrades, including key improvements to potable water supply systems.
Among several sites across Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Flotten Lake Campground’s potable water system is said to be one of the most significant improvements. The site received a new storage unit along with new treatment and distribution facilities in the potable water system. Future upgrades to Matheson Campground are being explored, which could include a new well along with treatment and distribution facilities.
Byron Davis, executive director of parks, infrastructure and capital planning, stated while maintenance crews conduct frequent testing and monitoring, the need for the upgrades comes from keeping the facilities up to date, rather than correcting any concerns related to the system.
“The water provision to our park visitors is an important responsibility, and we are upgrading water systems to ensure we can meet those requirements,” Davis said. “Often, we’ll find some areas that need refreshing and new equipment, so it’s just brought on by the need for additional and modernized treatment equipment.”
