Province reports 22 new cases of COVID-19 with 19 reported in northern zones

The province reported another 22 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan today. With 42 recoveries also reported, this brings the provincial total to 49,472 cases; 48,655 total recoveries and 242 cases are considered active.

This includes 131 active cases in Saskatchewan’s six northern zones.

The new cases in Northern Saskatchewan are located in the following zones: Far North West, 14; Far North East, three; and North West, two.

One case with pending residence was reassigned to the Central East zone.

No new deaths were reported today.

NITHA Data

As of July 19, there are 82 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), six; Far North West, 39; Far North East, 35; North Central, 0; and North East, two.

There are 34 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; four, Far North West, seven; and Far North East, 22; North Central, 0; and North East, one.

There has been 3,850 cases (97 per cent) that have recovered, and three people are hospitalized.

Vaccines Reported

An additional 2,636 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,353,307.

The additional 2,636 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, nine; Far North Central, 24; Far North East, 39; North West, 113; North Central, 221; North East, 31; Saskatoon, 1,513; Central West, 26; Central East, 120; Regina, 372; South West, 17; South Central, 26; and South East, 61. There were 64 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Seventy-four per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 59 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
