425 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, four deaths

The Government of Saskatchewan is reporting 425 new cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total to 72,458 reported cases.

The new cases in northern Saskatchewan are located in the Far North West (13), Far North East (13), North West (57), North Central (39), North East (10), and nine new cases have pending residence information.

There are 4,658 cases considered active and 67,049 cases are considered recovered. Nearly one third (31.8 per cent) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39. About one in six (17.9 per cent) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.

As of October 11th, a total of 347 individuals are hospitalized; including 268 inpatient hospitalizations, and 79 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 347 patients, 260 (74.7 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

Four new deaths were reported today. In total, 751 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of one per cent.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 483 (40.1 new cases per 100,000).

NITHA data

As of Oct. 10 there are 47 new cases to report in NITHA communities.

Of the new cases, 35 (74 per cent) were unvaccinated, five (11 per cent) are partially vaccinated and seven (15 per cent) were fully vaccinated.

There are 247 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), six; Far North West, 53; Far North East, 120; North Central, 58; and North East, 10.

There are 6,102 cases (95 per cent) recovered, and eight people are hospitalized.
