Two-day rise in temperatures, snowfall not on horizon
There’s a wave of warmth coming back to the Northwest this weekend.
Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures above the seasonal average in several regions of Saskatchewan, which should reverse by Monday. Both the Battlefords and Meadow Lake are predicted to reach 11 Celcius today, with the Battlefords getting to 17 C and 21 C and Meadow Lake expected to hit highs 14 C and 17 C on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Both regions are expecting a mix of sun and cloud, while overnight lows are back up above 0 C on Saturday and Sunday.
Meteorologist Terri Lang said this is definitely warm, but not record breaking, compared to the past few decades.
“Our 30 averages are highs around 11 C and lows around -2 C, so certainly well above average,” she said. This is the time of year, spring and fall, where you can see a big swing in temperature.”
