Province reports 238 new cases of COVID-19, 2,364 cases considered active
The Government of Saskatchewan has announced there are 238 new cases of COVID-19 in the province in its update Friday afternoon.
The new cases in northern Saskatchewan are found in the Far North West (four), Far North East (eight), North West (26), North Central (15), North East (five), and 10 new cases have pending residence information.
There are 2,364 active cases and 74,095 cases are considered recovered. Almost one-third (30.3 per cent) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39 and one-third (32 per cent) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
In total, 238 people are hospitalized including 184 inpatient hospitalizations and 54 ICU admissions. Of the 238 patients, 165 (69.3 per cent) were not fully vaccinated. In addition to Sask. ICUs, there are 22 residents in out-of-province ICUs.
