Province reports 97 new cases of COVID-19, 25 in north, two deaths

The province is reporting another 97 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Nov. 15, 56 of which are in unvaccinated individuals.

The new cases in Northern Saskatchewan today are located in the North West (nine) and North Central (16).

There are currently 1,201 cases considered active, a drop of 44 active cases from yesterday, and 77,497 cases are considered recovered. There are currently 305 cases active in Northern Saskatchewan.

There are two new deaths reported today bringing the provincial total to 896 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died.

Over one-fourth (27.8 per cent) of new cases are in the age category of 11 or under and 40 to 59 years of age each.

One-half (50.0 per cent) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.

Since the pandemic began there have been 79,594 confirmed cases of the virus in the province; 19,443 cases are from the North area (8,637 North West, 7,999 North Central, 2,807 North East).

As of Nov. 15, a total of 171 individuals are hospitalized; including 126 inpatient hospitalizations, and 45 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 171 patients, 112 (65.5 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

NITHA numbers

There is one new case to report on Nov. 14 in NITHA communities.

There are 36 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 0; Far North West, 12; Far North East, six; North Central, 16; and North East, two. There have been 6818 cases (99 per cent) that have recovered, and six people are being hospitalized.
