Province reports 96 new COVID-19 cases, one death

As of Nov. 25, there are 96 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Saskatchewan, bringing the total to 80,667 reported cases.

In Northern Saskatchewan, these cases were found in the Far North East (two), North West (five), North Central (three), and North East (three).

There are 933 cases considered active. Over one-third, (34.3 per cent) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39 years. Over one-third, (36.1 per cent) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) was fully vaccinated.

One new death was reported Thursday. So far, 915 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1 per cent.

There are currently 142 people in hospital, including 38 in the ICU. Of the 142 patients, 98 (69 per cent) were not fully vaccinated. In addition to the Saskatchewan ICU counts, there are six residents receiving care in Ontario.

Since Wednesday’s report, one patient has returned to Saskatchewan.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers is 95 (7.9 new cases per 100,000).

NITHA data

As of Nov. 23, there were no new cases to report in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) communities.

There are 37 active cases found in the Far North West (14), Far North East (seven), North Central (15) and North East (one). NITHA reported that 6844 cases (99 per cent) have recovered and eight people are in hospital.
