Outbreaks

The province recently updated its list of confirmed COVID outbreaks, which includes a ward in the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.

According to the government’s website, an outbreak was declared Tuesday in the Pediatrics ward of the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon.

The province confirmed an outbreak of two or more people tested positive for COVID-19 and the medical health officer has determined transmission likely occurred within a common setting or event in a specified time.

Other locations in northern Saskatchewan were also recently added to the list, including the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert, the Convention Centre at the Candle Lake Golf Resort, and the River Heights Lodge in North Battleford.

In terms of school outbreaks, no new ones were confirmed for the northern regions. The province has currently listed 34 in Saskatchewan.

Outbreaks will remain listed on the government’s website until officially declared over by an SHA Medical Health Officer.
