Heat warnings issued for the Battlefords, Lloydminster, Meadow Lake
August long is starting off on a scorching note.
Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for northwest Saskatchewan amid high temperatures hitting the entire region. A heat warning stems from the humidex reaching over 30 Celsius.
Daytime highs are expected to exceed that temperature, though a cold front crossing the region on Friday may bring some relief through slightly cooler temperatures.
The Battlefords, Lloydminster and Meadow Lake are among the many communities affected. On Friday, the Battlefords is expected to peak at 34 C in the early afternoon, with a chance of showers overnight that could lead into Saturday, where the high could be 28 C. Afternoon temperatures for the next two days should be 27 C and 25 C.
