Aug 4, 2022 | 6:51 PM

PEnvironment Canada has issued tornado warnings for some areas of north central Saskatchewan.

At 8:10 p.m. tornado warnings were issued for the District of Lakeland including Emma Lake and Anglin Lake as well as the R.M. of Paddockwood including Candle Lake and Paddockwood

This follows an earlier warning that was issued for the RM of Canwood, Debden, Big River as well as Spiritwood and Leoville.

Another warning was issued for the Meadow Lake area.

Environment Canada says in the event of a tornado you should go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell, or interior closet. You should also leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers, and other temporary or free-standing shelters, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.
