Keven Daken’s powerful, wide ranging, rich vocal paints a sonic canvas complete with emotion and storytelling. Keven’s influences range from Merle Haggard to Brooks and Dunn to Chris Young and his music reflects a taste of traditional country infused with that modern flair that gives him a unique, commercial sound. Daken’s songwriting career spans two decades, with charted, top 30 songs with Jamie Warren (She Kissed Me, You’re My Everything) and Colin Amey (Getaway). He has also had over a dozen songs recorded by other notable Canadian artists (John Landry, Tonya Kennedy, Derek James Tilley and others).
Keven’s new release, “Living Inside of Lonely”, is a story about a young woman who’s found herself in an emotional rut after her relationship has ended. It is an up tempo, moody, modern country song that grabs the listener from the opening drum roll. Produced by J Richard Hutt in Kitchener ON at the famed Cedartree Recording Studio, the song soars with excellent musicianship and an intensity that builds quickly and doesn’t let up until the final strike of the fiddler’s bow.
